Blonde, Brunette, Red Head…so many choices!

I discovered this awesome Virtual Makeover application over at the Marie Claire website yesterday and ever since I have been spending WAY too much time creating new looks for myself, the majority have been quite ridiculous which is why it’s so much fun because I would never in a million years put black hair dye anywhere near my hair, but with this awesome little Flash application I can see just how I would look with jet black hair, bright red lipstick and waaaayyy too much black eye make-up (just your typical Saturday night look).

I recommend trying this out if you are planning on changing the colour of your hair or getting a new cut. I have seen quite a few of these applications around before but they were either really really bad (80’s hairstyles and Nanna do’s) or you had to pay some ridiculous fee to use them.

Not only does it change you hair, but you can play around with make-up in it as well so you can see if bright green is the new eye shadow shade for you (it wasn’t for me unfortunately).

Not a Developer

I’m not a Developer, I’m a Designer.

What I Do:

  • Photoshop
  • Flash
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript (used for navigation and for form validation if I have to, very basic)
  • Illustrator

What I Don’t Do (but what people frequently assume I can do):

  • Ajax
  • Flex
  • ActionScript
  • XML
  • .NET, PHP, C# <- insert any other server-side programming language here

What this all means is that I live in Photoshop, love Flash and know HTML and CSS. The last 2 may get me confused with a Developer because Developers also know HTML and CSS, but on top of these skills Developers mostly know some other kind of server-side programming language such as: PHP, C#, ColdFusion, .Net, Perl, Ruby, Flex etc. I know NONE of these! I know of them, could possibly tell you a bit about them, but that’s it.

I’m not sure why I keep getting calls for Development jobs, I don’t know how I can be any more clear about what it is I do. My CV clearly states and describes my previous job role, I have an online Design Portfolio and I call myself a Designer.

P.S. I <3 Photoshop!!!

Just to lighten it up and because this video cracks me up so much:
